About The Midland Depot

On May 31, 1917, Albert E. Carlton became the owner of the Midland Railroad. He bought it out of receivership and operated it for a couple of years, before it was completely dissolved. Our new restaurant is named in honor of the Carltons who not only for a time owned the Midland – but also many other ventures in Cripple Creek. Mrs. Carlton a long- time friend of one-time Imperial owner Dorothy Mackin - often visited the Imperial Hotel.
